About Dr. Sterling Ellsworth

Dr. Ellsworth was raised in Washington, D.C. and received his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University. He then attended Michigan State University where he received his PhD in Psychology/Philosophy. After graduating, the beauty and milder climate of the Northwest called him to Oregon, where he took a teaching position at the University of Oregon in Eugene. As much as he loves to teach, he soon found himself assisting individual people with their mental health and life challenges. He started his private practice in Eugene, and has never looked back. He loves his work. He has continued to teach and speak for many organizations and companies, including the U.S. Forest Service, AT&T, many different school districts and other private groups.

Sterling has always loved the idea of living close to the earth, and while you can’t call him a real farmer he has dabbled in some aspects. He and his wife Anne now live near Eugene on a “small farm” where they enjoy gardening and farm fresh eggs from their little flock of chickens.

Their home is near a great sailing lake where they have enjoyed sailing and kayaking for many years. Many summer vacations have been spent in the Northwest San Juan Islands on their sailboat exploring nature and the beauty of the islands.

Sterling’s sense of humor helps others see that life is meant to be enjoyed. His special skill in cutting to the bottom line is one of the reasons his clients continue to refer their family and friends to him.
